13 Weeks to Go

My first post since the marathon last year and the injuries that followed. I also had my first MRI, Nerve Conduction Study and complete blood work done. It took until June but I am finally starting to run consistently again and I will be sharing my weekly workouts and anything else that crosses my mind in the meantime. Feel free to leave a comment or something to liven up my blog. I've decided that by openly posting my workouts it will hopefully keep me motivated to keep up with running even though work has begun bordering on overwhelming.

This week wasn't my best week but here was the workouts

Monday - Rest
Tuesday - 3 miles easy running at SCSDB track. 1st 2 miles at 9 and last mile at 8.
Wednesday - 4 miles at 8:50 pace on treadmill. Very tired but I was running at midnight so...
Thursday - Rest
Friday
Saturday - Lazy
Sunday - 10 miles at Soutside Park. Average between 9-10 minute/mile pace. Tweaked my left ankle a couple times but feel okay except my legs are very tired.

Overall - 3 days a week isn't going to cut it. A lack of prep is what cost me last year when I ran at Disney. Goal for next week is 5 days of running with at least 1 day of speedwork or hills.

Other notes - still not sure how I like my new trail shoes. They are much sturdier than my other pair and prevent foot bruises but I've twisted an ankle twice in them. Maybe I need to double up on socks until I get used to trail running regularly again. Until next week may you find a reason to get out and run that isn't because someone is chasing you.
